Time Zone Offset Calculator

Convert a date and clock time between two fixed UTC offsets without relying on named time-zone rules.

Choose a valid calendar date.
Enter a clock time.

Use the units shown. Blanks, words, comma-formatted numbers, fractions, non-finite values, and values outside the stated ranges are rejected.

How to use this calculator

  1. Replace the example values with your own measurements or planning assumptions.
  2. Keep every value in the unit printed beside its field.
  3. Select Calculate and review the result together with the formula and limitations below.

Formula and method

Convert the source clock time to UTC by subtracting its offset, then add the target offset. Date rollover is handled automatically.

Results are hidden whenever an input changes or validation fails, so an old answer cannot be mistaken for a current calculation.

Worked example

Source date = 2026-10-04; Source time = 14:30; Source UTC offset = -4 hours; Target UTC offset = 1 hours. The calculator returns Target date = 2026-10-04; Target time = 19:30; Offset difference = 5 hours; UTC date and time = 2026-10-04 18:30 UTC.

The worked example uses the same default values displayed in the calculator.

Limitations and safety

Offsets are fixed numbers. The calculator does not determine daylight-saving transitions, historical rules, or a city’s current offset; confirm those separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does this automatically adjust for daylight saving time?

No. Enter the UTC offsets that apply on the date you are converting. Named time-zone rules are intentionally not inferred.

Why might the real result differ?

Offsets are fixed numbers. The calculator does not determine daylight-saving transitions, historical rules, or a city’s current offset; confirm those separately.

How should I round the answer?

Keep extra precision while planning, then round up when purchasing whole containers, bags, pieces, or stock lengths. Follow the output labels and supplier packaging.
