Door Weatherstrip Calculator
Plan the top and two sides of rectangular door frames and estimate whole weatherstrip packs.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Length = doors × (width + 2 × height) ÷ 12 × (1 + allowance%). Packs round up by pack length.
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Doors 3 doors; Door width 36 in; Door height 80 in; Cutting allowance 10 %; Length per pack 17 ft. Results: Strip length 53.9 ft; Whole packs 4 packs.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
