Acoustic Panel Coverage Calculator
Estimate panel count for a chosen percentage of a rectangular wall surface.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Target area = wall area × coverage%. Panels = target area ÷ panel area × (1 + extras%), rounded up.
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Wall width 16 ft; Wall height 9 ft; Target coverage 35 %; Panel width 24 in; Panel height 48 in; Extra panels 10 %. Results: Target area 50.4 sq ft; Panels to order 7 panels.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
