How to use this calculator

  1. Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
  2. Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
  3. Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.

Formula and method

Pieces = (drawers × pulls + doors × knobs) × (1 + spare%). Round pieces and packs up.

Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.

Worked example

Drawers 18 drawers; Doors 12 doors; Pulls per drawer 1 pulls; Knobs per door 1 knobs; Spare percentage 10 %; Pieces per pack 10 pieces. Results: Pieces to order 33 pieces; Whole packs 4 packs.

The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.

Limitations

Keep separate counts when pulls and knobs come in different packs or finishes. Check screw lengths and hole spacing.
