Landscape Fabric Roll Calculator
Estimate landscape fabric area and whole rolls for a measured bed.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Fabric area = measured bed area × (1 + overlap and waste%). Divide by roll area and round rolls up.
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Bed area 420 sq ft; Overlap and waste 20 %; Roll width 4 ft; Roll length 50 ft. Results: Fabric area 504 sq ft; Whole rolls 3 rolls.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
