Pond Liner Size Calculator
Estimate one-piece liner dimensions for a rectangular pond from footprint, depth, and edge overlap.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Liner length = pond length + twice the depth + twice the overlap. Width follows the same rule. Sheet area = length × width × (1 + allowance%).
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Pond length 12 ft; Pond width 8 ft; Maximum depth 3 ft; Edge overlap per side 1.5 ft; Extra allowance 10 %. Results: Liner length 21 ft; Liner width 17 ft; Sheet area 392.7 sq ft.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
