Bill Split Calculator
Split a shared bill with tax, a tip based on the pre-tax amount, and optional group fees.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Total = subtotal × (1 + tax% + tip%) + other fees. Equal share = total ÷ people.
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Pre-tax subtotal 80 $; Sales tax 8 %; Tip on subtotal 18 %; Other group fees 5 $; People 4 people. Results: Total bill $105.80; Each person’s share $26.45.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
