Ceiling Tile Pack Calculator
Estimate ceiling tiles and packs for a rectangular room from tile dimensions and cutting waste.
How to use this calculator
- Measure the project or enter costs from a current quote or product label.
- Adjust the quantities, coverage, package size, and allowances to match your situation.
- Select Calculate, then check the method, worked example, and limitations below.
Formula and method
Tile count = ceiling area ÷ tile area × (1 + waste%), rounded up. Divide tiles by pack quantity and round up.
Whole packages and pieces are rounded up. Results disappear when an input changes until the new values are calculated.
Worked example
Room length 20 ft; Room width 15 ft; Tile length 24 in; Tile width 24 in; Cutting waste 10 %; Tiles per pack 8 tiles. Results: Tiles to order 83 tiles; Whole packs 11 packs.
The example uses the values initially displayed in the fields.
