FINANCIAL CALCULATOR
Convert an hourly rate and weekly schedule into estimated weekly, monthly, and annual gross pay.
How it works
Regular and overtime pay are calculated separately, then multiplied by the number of paid weeks. Monthly pay is the annual estimate divided by 12.
Formula
Weekly gross = hourly rate × regular hours + hourly rate × overtime multiplier × overtime hours. Annual gross = weekly gross × paid weeks.
Worked example
At $25 per hour, 40 regular hours, five overtime hours at 1.5×, and 52 paid weeks, estimated annual gross pay is $61,750.
Important limits
- Taxes, deductions, bonuses, commissions, benefits, unpaid leave, and local labor rules are excluded.
- Not every worker or hour qualifies for overtime, and the legally required regular rate can include other compensation.
- Monthly output is an average, not a payroll-calendar amount.
Frequently asked questions
Is gross pay take-home pay?
No. Gross pay is before taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other deductions.
Why use paid weeks?
It lets unpaid time off reduce the annual estimate.
